As we see things develop, the David Archuleta Fan Blast can now report with confidence that through May 20th and 21st, the American Idol contestants are in a full court press! That means no days off to visit nearby theme parks like Magic Mountain, Universal Studios or even Disneyland for one of the busiest guys on Earth!
If last year’s schedule can shed some light on what our Season 7 Idols are facing right now, then it’s a non-stop hectic romp all the way through to the Final 2.
David Archuleta’s singing was an unstoppable force of nature. Somewhere in the family’s genetic chemistry, the music seeped right into his bones, and then fate or providence or whatever you want to call it lent a hand.
What if his father hadn’t left a “Les Miz” record lying around the house?
What if his mother, a singer and dancer, hadn’t emigrated from Honduras to Florida, where she met his father, who was there only to do temporary sales work for a summer?
What if his sister’s boyfriend hadn’t stumbled into a legendary voice coach, or what if the voice coach hadn’t needed help with his computers?
I have added several hq photos of David Archuleta in the gallery together with some of his old pictures taken with friends. Thanks to Tathy for all these hqs! If you have more that you can contribute to the site, feel free to send it over. Thanks also to Julie for reminding me that some of the gallery links were not working and its fixed now.

» Candids: David Archuleta Photos
Last Tuesday night, on the seventh season of “American Idol”, the 17-year-old teen sensation had a very bad screw-up — he forgot the lyrics of his Beatles song!!! And for that, David Archuleta officially lost his place as AI’s frontrunner. Not only did he forget the lyrics (always a kiss of death on the reality singing show) to The Beatles’ “We Can Work it Out,” he never recovered from the mistake. Not really good! =( Even the always affable Randy Jackson dubbed his uninspired performance “very forced,” while Simon Cowell curtly (as usual) called it “a mess.”
Still, I can forgive David Archuleta for this one-time real bad performance. After all, he said in his pre-recorded interview that he had been nervous about having to choose a song from the Lennon/McCartney songbook because he “wasn’t too familiar with the songs.” The bad thing is that while David Archuleta fell, someone rose and performed an amazing number. Yup, none other than Chikezie. Unless the big guy screws up next week, Archie will be in for a tough competition ahead.
Back in Murray, Utah, a growing fan club of students and teachers in Murray High School are tuning in weekly to watch and support their homegrown talent. School principal Scott Bushnell revealed sheepishly, “I have both my kids going at my house the whole time the show’s on, with two phones, getting in as many votes as they can. I’ve heard many stories of students texting more than 100 times for David Archuleta.” WOW! That’s a lot of votes especially if coming from the students! Pity the parents who have to foot the phone bills, hehe!
Thackarey said David Archuleta deserves every accolade. Embarrassed by compliments and always more interested in others, Thackarey said Archie isn’t driven by some hope of fame. He says, “I can’t picture David saying ‘I want to be a rock star, I want to be famous,’. He’s more like, I want to do music because I love it. He’s a follow-your-bliss kind of guy.” Yup, that’s definitely the David Archuleta that we’ve come to love! =)
OMG I LOVE DAVID HE IS MY IDOL:wink:
I LOVE YOU DAVID:blush:
