As we see things develop, the David Archuleta Fan Blast can now report with confidence that through May 20th and 21st, the American Idol contestants are in a full court press! That means no days off to visit nearby theme parks like Magic Mountain, Universal Studios or even Disneyland for one of the busiest guys on Earth!
If last year’s schedule can shed some light on what our Season 7 Idols are facing right now, then it’s a non-stop hectic romp all the way through to the Final 2.
After Elimination night on Wednesday, the first thing on the agenda for David’s Thursday morning is choosing his next song. Like on other days, David would spend 3 hours with a private tutor handling assignments emailed directly from Murray High School teachers and administrators.
By Friday morning his song is dealt to production assistants which then is passed on to the show musicians as they are to prepare for idol rehearsals. Later that day, David and the other contestants will board executive SUVs and go out on the town looking for wardrobe to wear in next week’s shows!
On Saturday, David would rehearse with a mentor or guest celebrity going over the song’s arrangement, delivery and style. As weeks draw closer to the finals, camera crews will begin to appear, there standing by to tape and showcase a part of their day.
On Sunday, after some prayer time with his family, David and others would film their Ford commercial of the week and have the afternoon and evening off to rest for Monday.
This is probably the busiest day David has to endure of his entire week, as it is non-stop rehearsals throughout the day and into the evening.
Now this takes us to BIG Tuesday! David along with his personal assistants will scramble to ensure that everything is ready for a dress rehearsal that happens a couple of hours before the show. At Television City, American Idol is beamed live to the East Coast at 5pm local time.
When the show is over, David breathes a sigh of relief. And then he realizes… someone goes home tomorrow!
